This
is the Futaba 9-Channel FM aircraft
radio. **also has PCM capabilities**
It has an 8 model memory, and the included
CAMpac (FUTM9405) Data Storage. Module
increases the memory to 14 models. This
radio comes with Futaba's 8-channel
R148DF receiver.
*THIS RADIO INCLUDES PROGRAMMING FOR
AIR, HELI AND GLIDER MODELS**
**THIS RADIO HAS THE ABILITY TO DO TRIPLE
RATES. SEE COMMENTS**
This radio has a memory backup chip,
which enables it to keep the radio
settings when the transmitter battery
is removed for cycling. 9 channel operation
(SEE COMMENTS)
********* New Features Over The 8U*

****PHYSICALLY ---
Easy-Program Dial to speed and simplify
programming.
2 Sliders in addition to the 3 dials.
normal modes.
A ninth, switch only, channel (available
only with 9Channel PCM rcvrs)
No snap direction switches on the radio's
face. (see features for details)
New smaller trainer port (cords avail.
for 9C to 9C and 9C to older style)
Larger visual display for ease of use,
with graphs.
Image of model type visible on screen.
3 Timers, always visible on home screen.
***ALL MODEL TYPES PROGRAMMING:
Menus for basic and advanced rather
than scroll-through style. Addition
of Aux-Ch functions to assign what controls
channels 5-9. Addition of Servo Display
and Test function to see servo commands
on screen. Increase model name to 10-character.
TRIPLE RATES available by assigning
dual rates to one of the 2 3-pos. switch
Graphical display for curves, dual rates,
etc. Dual Rates assignable to all 8
switches, including 3-position for triplerate
Dual rate/expo together on a single
curve for easy programming. CANNOT reverse
trim display colors on screen. Idle-down
function is programmable to any switch.
FailSafe settings default to a low throttle
setting, not "hold" Programmable
mixes allow a slider/dial/switch as
the primary control of a mix (for inflight
adjustment, for example, of airbrakes
deployment).
***ACRO PROGRAMMING:
Elev-to-flap preprogrammed mix may be
turned on/off in flight with a switch.
Has 0 through 4 separate snaps available,
with selection of which snap you are
commanding assigned to any 2 switches.
***GLIDER PROGRAMMING:
Has no idle down or throttle cut programming.
Elev-to-flap mix has option to turn
on/off with any switch. Start &
Speed Offset programs both incl. dial
to adjust the entire setting 2-FLP glider
programming: Flap-to-ail mix incl offset
and can assign to any switch, not just
D Ail-to-flap mix can be assigned to
any switch.
***HELI PROGRAMMING:
No invert mode, no invert offset. Has
3 idle ups, not just 2. Adjust all 4
thr. curves on a single screen. Program
offsets1 and 2 on a single screen.
Has 3 revo mixes - 1 for normal, 1 for
idles 1 and 2, 1 for idle 3. Has not
only 2 linear mixes but also a single
5-point curve mix. Select Hover throttle
and pitch adjustment dials (5 choices),
including direction. Gyro programming
includes condition option, setting a
different gyro setting for each of the
5 conditions, OR can assign to any switch,
incl 3 position switches which then
have 3 settings. (8U had no way to set
a gyro setting just for throttle hold.)
Governor programming assign to any switch,
incl sep settings for cut channel DOES
NOT have a setting for throttle hold.
Thr-needle programming has 3 curves
- NORM, Idle1/2 and Idle3, but no acceleration
option (8U had only 1 curve).

COMMENTS:
1)The 2nd Ail Out feature allows a modeler
using a 5 channel radio to use twin
aileron servos. In the past the flaperon
function required the 2nd aileron servo
lead to be plugged into channels 6 or
7. Now in the parameters menu the modeler
can select 2nd ail out to be 5 or 6/7.
2)The FS change means that if you do
not make your own settings for the throttle
servo in the PCM settings it will default
to a high idle in the event of a PCM
lock. PCM RXs: IMPORTANT!! The older
512 PCM resolution rxs are AMC 10/11/01
NOT compatible with this transmitter.
For example, DO NOT ir/jl
attempt to use R128DP receiver with
this TX, it is the wrong input resolution
and will not function properly.
*** The 9th channel on the 9C is an
on/off switch ONLY, which is also ONLY
accessible in PCM MODE!! ****
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 9CA AND 9CH TRANSMITTERS:
9CH has trainer and 2-position switches
on top right
9CA has trainer and 2-position switches
on top left
9CH has a smooth throttle transition
9CA has ratcheted throttle
